Overview

Demon Hand is a large melee-only enemy encountered in Peglin. Visually resembling a brick-covered gauntlet, it trades any ranged attacks for a single powerful close-range strike and is immune to most status effects. Lore notes link Demon Hands to the larger Demon Wall creature: scholars study whether Demon Hands mature into Demon Walls or are simply components of the same organism, and rumours of Demon Feet persist despite lacking physical evidence.

Demon Hand functions as a tanky frontliner that forces straightforward, aggressive combat. It has unusually high HP for a non-boss enemy, a design detail explicitly referenced to the fall of the Berlin Wall. Because it resists most debuffs, players cannot rely on slowing, poisoning, or other status strategies to trivialize the encounter; instead, fights revolve around raw damage output and careful defense timing. Its lack of ranged attacks means it must close to strike, giving Peglin players opportunities to set up strong offense or mitigate hits with well-timed shields and placement.

  • Priority tactics: focus on strong single-target damage and burst windows rather than status application. Defensive cards or placements that blunt its heavy hits are highly effective.
  • Positioning: exploit its melee-only nature by keeping distance until you are ready to trade hits; use peg bounces and board control to arrange high-damage collisions when it advances.
  • Build synergy: high-damage orb chains, direct-damage relics, and armor or shields that reduce single big hits are preferable to status-focused builds for encounters featuring Demon Hand.
  • Version notes: the enemy’s stats have changed during development; in v0.7.17 its health was set to 1,989 while its damage was adjusted downward to 25. Earlier builds reduced its health when it was added to the main game from beta.
