Brick Slimebox

Overview

Brick Slimeboxes attack by leaping and pouncing onto a target's head, using their immense weight to deal damage. They advance toward the player as part of their attack behavior, so effects that both stop movement and interrupt attacks are especially effective. The Tangled (or Thorn) status effect completely prevents a
A small scripted event can also spawn a pack of brick slimes in a hallway encounter. In that event the player is given the choice to trick the bricks; tricking them causes the pack to smash themselves into a tight spot and destroy one another, rewarding the player with Stone×3 and starting a special enemy encounter sequence.
Practical notes and strategy:
- Brick Slimeboxes deal damage via a weighty pounce; predict and block their advance lanes or use crowd-control to stop them before they reach the pegs where they can hit the player.
- Applying Tangled (or equivalent bind effects) both halts their movement and disables their attack, making Tangled among the most reliable counters.
- Ranged or peel-back damage can be used to kill them before they close the gap, but Tangled eliminates the need to kite them.
- They are one of the few non-forest slimes and frequently appear in castle crystal storage rooms, so expect them when exploring castle-themed pegboards.
- Historically their stats were adjusted during Early Access: health was increased to 311 and damage reduced to 6; they were introduced in the Beta.
