Chanballier

Overview

The castle setting implies that Chanballiers are a direct effect of the crystal influence that permeates the environment; they animate fixtures and use their fiery attacks to harass intruders. Knights who defend the halls exploit the Chanballiers’ behavior by baiting them into warming the castle’s cold stone corridors, turning the chandelier’s flame into a predictable hazard rather than an uncontrollable threat.
- The
Chanballier’s main threat is area denial: its magical flame can synergize with other enemies or traps to punish positioning and movement.
- Be cautious when fighting underneath or beside a
Chanballier. Defeating it while you or allied units stand below will cause falling-damage that can negate a successful kill.
- Use lure and positioning to your advantage. Enemies or the player can intentionally draw the
Chanballier away from valuable areas or force it to fall where it harms other foes.
- Treat Chanballiers as environmental hazards as much as active attackers; they are best handled by controlling the battlefield and avoiding stacks of units beneath them.
