Night Knight

Overview

Lore describes Night Knights as once ordinary knights who stared too long into enchanted mirrors; their souls were transferred to another presence and became the nightmare-like beings encountered in the tunnels. This backstory frames them as corrupted mirror-born knights rather than unique spellcasters.

- Vulnerabilities: Completely susceptible to all status effects. Burns, freezes, shocks, curses, or any debuff procs will stick and amplify incoming damage.
- Pegboard interaction: Their pegboard layout permits chaining and repeat damage sources to build up large totals; aim combos and multi-hit effects at their panels to maximize value.
- Role in encounters: They act as durable damage sinks; handle them with status-over-time or multi-hit spells rather than single, slow high-damage attacks.
- Positioning and priority: Prioritize applying reliable crowd-control or damage-over-time before attempting to burst. Because they are otherwise strong, leaving one unchecked can drain resources; however, once debuffed they fall comparatively quickly among tunnel foes.
- Visual/asset note: The
Night Knight’s sprite evolved from an earlier “Shadow Knight” design and was historically recolored from an older Tall/Height Knight sprite in early versions. The name changed from Shadow Knight to
Night Knight during development.
