Collusion Detection

collusion-detection

Overview

Collusion Detection is a passive effect that fixes the displayed price of shop items or options that normally increase in cost each time they are purchased. When this effect is active, any item, upgrade, or choice whose price would scale upward with repeated purchases instead remains at its original base cost for the duration of the run.

This effect applies to all in-game purchases that use incremental pricing mechanics: each time a purchase would normally raise that particular option's price, the price instead stays at the initial value. It does not retroactively reduce prices for past purchases; it prevents further increases from occurring after it is obtained.

  • Useful for long runs that rely on repeatedly buying the same upgrade or consumable, since cumulative expense no longer grows.
  • Synergizes strongly with effects that encourage farming a single item or repeated shop interactions, allowing efficient accumulation without escalating cost.
  • Does not affect items whose price is fixed by design; it only targets options whose cost is coded to increase on each purchase.
