Quality Sprinkler

The Quality Sprinkler is a crafted item that waters the eight adjacent tiles every morning, covering a 3×3 area centered on the sprinkler itself. It only waters tilled soil, so it does not affect untitled ground, Garden Pots, or a pet’s water bowl. Like other sprinklers, it cannot be placed on sand. A Torch can be placed on top of a Quality Sprinkler to provide a small amount of light in dark areas.

It is unlocked at Farming level 6 and becomes one of the first truly efficient sprinkler upgrades, since it removes the need to water a small cluster of crops by hand each day. This makes it especially useful for compact crop layouts early and mid-game, when conserving energy and time is important but Iridium Sprinklers are not yet available.

Quality Sprinklers can be obtained from several sources besides crafting. They may appear in stock at the Traveling Cart, occasionally be found in treasure rooms in Skull Cavern, and can be received as one of the prizes from the Trout Derby festival. They may also come from opening a Mystery Box or Golden Mystery Box. In addition, four Quality Sprinklers are awarded as the seventh prize from the Prize Machine in Mayor’s Manor, with a 33% chance. The item is also a reward for completing the Community Center and Joja Community Development Form goals associated with farming progression.

A few practical notes make them more valuable:

• They are most efficient when placed at the center of a tightly packed 3×3 crop plot.
• Since they only water tilled tiles, they should be laid out after the farming area is prepared.
• They are best used on crops that stay in place for multiple days, since constantly retilled or rearranged plots reduce their benefit.
• Because they are crafted and also obtainable through rewards and random sources, players can often build a starter sprinkler network before mass-producing them.

Quality Sprinklers are not used in any bundles and are not used in any quests.
