Tapper

The Tapper is a crafted item used to collect sap and other tree products from a tree over time. Once placed on a mature tree, it produces items automatically without requiring any further interaction until the product is ready to harvest. The Tapper itself is unlocked at Foraging level 4.

A Tapper can be attached to several kinds of trees, each yielding a different product and production time:

• Maple Tree: Maple Syrup after 9 days
• Oak Tree: Oak Resin after 7 days
• Pine Tree: Pine Tar after 5 days
• Mahogany Tree: 5–10 Sap after 1 day
• Mushroom Tree: Common Mushroom, Red Mushroom, or Purple Mushroom
• Mystic Tree: Mystic Syrup after 7 days
• Green Rain Tree (Type 3): Fiddlehead Fern after 2 days

Tapper output is a reliable way to obtain important crafting and cooking ingredients. Maple Syrup is especially notable for crafting, while Oak Resin and Pine Tar are commonly needed for more advanced recipes and production chains. Mushroom Trees and Mystic Trees provide rarer materials, making them valuable when available. Mahogany Trees are the fastest source listed, but they only produce sap.

The Tapper is one of the earliest ways to turn ordinary trees into long-term resource producers, and it becomes more useful as more tree types are encountered. Because production is tied to the tree rather than the player, it is efficient to place Tappers on trees that are not needed for chopping.
