Cot
Overview
The Cot is the basic sleeping furniture used to provide duplicants with a proper bed and prevent the negative effects of sleeping on the floor. In 
Place Cots in living quarters or other dedicated sleeping areas so duplicants do not have to sleep on the floor. Because sore backs result directly from sleeping without a bed, the simplest way to eliminate this source of discomfort is to install one or more Cots where duplicants rest. Cots are intended as the primary remedy for this specific problem and are appropriate for early-game and compact housing solutions.
- Ensure sleeping areas are reachable and attractive enough that duplicants will use the Cot rather than sleeping elsewhere; a Cot removes the floor-sleep penalty that causes back pain.
- Use Cots to set up organized dormitories when space is limited; they occupy little room while providing the essential benefit of preventing sore backs.
- Replacing floor sleeping with Cots eliminates the ongoing accumulation of back pain, improving duplicant wellbeing and reducing the need for other mitigations that respond to stress or physical ailments.
The Cot is therefore the fundamental building-block for any colony that wants to avoid the health and morale consequences of duplicants sleeping on the floor.
