Hot Tub

Overview

The Hot Tub is a building that relaxes Duplicants by bathing them in massaging jets of heated liquid. It provides a recreational, comfort-focused function in the colony by using warmed fluid streams to produce a soothing, spa-like experience for the occupants who use it.

The Hot Tub operates by circulating heated liquid through massage jets; the effect is created by the temperature and motion of the liquid rather than by steam or dry heat. Placement of a Hot Tub is intended as part of a base’s comfort and morale infrastructure: installing one gives Duplicants a dedicated place to unwind and can be integrated into recreational or wellness areas. Because its effect depends on heated liquid, the Hot Tub is typically used where a source of warm fluid is available or where liquids can be routed to it.

  • The Hot Tub’s core function is to relax Duplicants through massaging jets of heated liquid; it is not a cooking, power, or oxygen-generation device.
  • It should be considered when designing areas meant to relieve stress or provide leisure for Duplicants.
  • The Hot Tub works with heated liquid rather than dry heat, so a supply of warm fluid is necessary for it to provide its intended effect.
  • Use Hot Tubs in clusters or near other comfort-focused buildings to create dedicated relaxation zones that encourage Duplicants to take breaks and recuperate.

As a purpose-built leisure building, the Hot Tub complements other colony systems by addressing Duplicant wellbeing through a simple, liquid-based massage mechanic.
