Lamp
Overview
Lamp is a light-emitting building whose coverage can be checked directly in the light overlay. The overlay shows the radius of light produced by buildings, making it easy to see how far a lamp reaches and how its illumination overlaps with nearby structures.
This is useful when planning base lighting, since the overlay lets you confirm whether an area is fully covered or if there are dark gaps that need another light source. It also helps with placement: by comparing the lamp’s radius with surrounding rooms, corridors, and work areas, you can position it so its light reaches the spaces that matter most.
- Open the light overlay to view the lamp’s emission radius.
- Use the radius display to judge whether the lamp covers a room, hallway, or worksite.
- Check for overlap with other light-emitting buildings if you want to avoid redundant coverage.
- Revisit the overlay after moving or adding buildings, since a change in layout can alter how useful the lamp’s placement is.
Because the game exposes light range through the overlay, the lamp’s practical value is tied not just to its existence as a light source, but to how well its radius fits the surrounding build.
