Overview

The Toggle Button is a building component that outputs a logical signal. It functions as a simple on/off switch for logic circuits. The Toggle Button can be changed between its two states either from the machine's pop-up menu when the building is selected, or by pressing the Toggle Button hotkey while hovering the cursor over the button. The default hotkey for toggling is Tab.

The Toggle Button has two discrete states that determine its output. When the button is On its output is the logical value 1. When the button is Off its output is null, representing the absence of a signal. These two states provide a straightforward way to inject or remove a constant signal into a logic network without the need for external inputs or automated controls.

  • The Toggle Button emits a steady logical output that does not change unless the button is manually toggled via the pop-up menu or hotkey.
  • Use the pop-up menu for precise control when the machine is selected; use the hotkey (default Tab) for quick toggling while building or debugging.
  • On state = 1. Off state = null (no signal).
  • The Toggle Button is suitable where a persistent manual enable/disable signal is required in logic arrangements.

The Toggle Button integrates into logic networks as a reliable manual input source. Its behavior is deterministic: toggling to On immediately supplies a 1 to any connected logic consumer, and toggling to Off immediately removes the signal by outputting null. This makes it useful for testing logic layouts, manually overriding automatic controls, or providing a user-controlled trigger that persists until changed. The control methods (pop-up menu and hotkey) allow both deliberate configuration and rapid switching during layout and troubleshooting.
