Overview

The Shop is the in-game vendor where upgrades and unlockable items are purchased using Research Points. It organizes purchasable content into six categories: Upgrades, Machines, Platforms, Trains, Wires and Decorations. Upgrades and items bought from the Shop improve production, transport and control capabilities across the factory and unlock new building blocks and functionality.

Purchasable Upgrades include global modifiers and quality-of-life improvements. The Speed Multiplier upgrade increases the speed of all Machines and Platforms, affecting both processing and transport rates; it has multiple levels that raise effective machine speeds (for example, Conveyer Belt speeds increase from 120 to 150 to 180 across levels) and synchronously increases fluid input/output rates and fluid requirements for relevant machines. The Vortex Inputs upgrade increases how many conveyor belts can feed into the Vortex (from 4 up to 12 across levels). The Shape Multiplier makes every delivered shape count multiple times at the Vortex and is intended as an end-game, very expensive upgrade. Platform Capacity upgrades increase the capacity needed to build Space Platforms, with multiple levels that raise the Platform Capacity values. The general Upgrades category speeds up shape production and delivery and contains global improvements available through Research Points.

Machine unlocks and machine-level upgrades are bought in the Machines category. Examples of purchasable machines and unlocks include Cutter, Swapper, Trash, Reverse Rotator, 180° Rotator, Bent Stacker, Overflow Splitter, and higher machine levels (for example a 3rd Machine Level). Some fluid-related machines such as Fluid Tank are tied to later Milestones.

Platform-related purchases expand available platform types and sizes. Available platform upgrades include longer platforms (3x1, 4x1), irregular shapes (various L-, T-, S- and X-shaped platforms), blocky platforms (2x2, 3x2, 4x2) and large square platforms such as 3x3. These unlocks add more layout options for train stations and platform-based infrastructure.

Train upgrades and features are in the Trains category. Purchases include specialized wagons (Fluid Wagon, Spacer Wagon), station and platform conveniences (Wait Stop, Wagon Transfer Platform, Station Spacer), and color support unlocks (Primary Colors, Secondary Colors, White Color). Train-specific global upgrades include Train Capacity, which increases how many packages a wagon can carry per machine level, and Train Speed, which raises train movement speed across multiple levels.

The Wires category contains wiring fundamentals, logic and automation unlocks. Wire Basics unlocks the basic wire and interfacing components (Wire, Wire Bridge, Wire Transmitter/Receiver, Belt Filter, Belt Reader, Pipe Gate, Signal Producer, Display, Toggle Button). Logic Gates adds Boolean and comparison gates (AND, OR, NOT, XOR, Comparison, Transistor). Simulated Machines unlock simulated components that mimic machine behavior for circuitry (Simulated Rotator, Simulated Painter, Simulated Stacker, etc.). Global Wire Transmission and Operator-related wire items (Global Signal Transmitter/Receiver, Operator Signal Receiver) are also available.

Decorations are a small Shop category for aesthetics; for example, the Label decoration is available at a modest Research Points cost.

  • Purchases require Research Points and many have Milestone prerequisites; the Milestone Required listed in Shop entries refers to the milestone for the Classic-Regular scenario.
  • Many upgrades have multiple levels, with increasing Research Point costs and incremental effects (speed, capacity, inputs, multipliers).
  • Some upgrades affect multiple systems simultaneously (for example, Speed Multiplier also affects fluid rates and requirements).
  • The Shop is the central means of progression for unlocking machines, transport options and automation tools that expand factory design possibilities.
