Overview

Space Transport refers to the set of long-range conveyance systems in Shapez 2 used to move shapes and fluids quickly across large distances. The two primary Space Transport types in the game are Space Belts and Space Pipes. Space Belts carry shapes, functioning like extended, high-capacity belts, while Space Pipes carry fluids with one-way flow and very high throughput. Both are integrated into the same placement and routing systems as their surface counterparts: they can be split and merged like ordinary Belts and Pipes, and they occupy platform space when placed.

Space Belts transport shapes quickly over large distances. A single Space Belt tile can carry up to 48 full Belts of shapes, distributed as 16 belts per machine level and 4 belts per lane. Each Space Belt tile consumes 0.5 Platform Units on the platform grid. Space Belts are placed and oriented like regular Belts and support the same split and merge operations as on-ground Belts.

Space Pipes transport fluids quickly over large distances and are directional: fluids inside Space Pipes travel in only one direction. A single Space Pipe tile can carry up to 288 full Fluid Launchers, allocated as 96 launchers per machine level and 24 launchers per lane. Each Space Pipe tile uses 0.5 Platform Units. Space Pipes are placed and oriented like regular Pipes and likewise support splitting and merging similar to Belts.

Vertical level transitions for Space Transport use dedicated lift variants. Space Belt Lifts are placed by using the same hotkeys as regular Belt Lifts (default Level Up = E, Level Down = Q) while placing a Space Belt. Each Space Belt Lift consumes 0.5 Platform Units. Space Pipe Lifts are placed the same way as regular Vertical Pipes by using the Level Up and Level Down hotkeys while placing a Space Pipe. Each Space Pipe Lift also consumes 0.5 Platform Units. These lifts allow routing between platform levels and integration with surface machines.

  • Space Belts: high-capacity long-range transport for shapes; 48 full Belts per tile (16 per machine level, 4 per lane); 0.5 Platform Units per tile.
  • Space Pipes: one-way, very high-capacity long-range transport for fluids; 288 full Fluid Launchers per tile (96 per machine level, 24 per lane); 0.5 Platform Units per tile.
  • Lifts: use the same Level Up/Level Down placement hotkeys as surface lifts (default E/Q); Space Belt Lifts and Space Pipe Lifts each use 0.5 Platform Units.
  • Routing: Space Belts and Space Pipes can be split and merged like regular Belts and Pipes, allowing lane management and machine-level distribution.
  • Placement considerations: both Space Belts and Space Pipes occupy platform space, so plan platform layouts to reserve the necessary 0.5 Platform Unit tiles for long-range routes and lifts.
