Iron Shield

The Iron shield is an unused iron-tier shield item in Valheim that cannot currently be crafted through normal gameplay. It is listed as a shield, but the functional iron shield available to players is the Iron Tower Shield instead.

At present, the Iron shield is only obtainable through console commands, and even then it does not function properly. In-game, it appears to be attached incorrectly rather than being held in the character’s hand, sitting offset behind the left foot instead of behaving like a normal equipped shield.

Because it is not craftable and is not implemented correctly, it has no practical use in regular progression. Players looking for an iron shield option should use the Iron tower shield, which is the available iron-tier shield in the game.
