Iron Tower Shield

Iron tower shield is a craftable tower shield that can be upgraded at a forge. Like other tower shields, it is built for blocking rather than parrying, and its upgrade path increases both its block armor and durability.

It can be crafted with Finewood and Iron, and the material cost changes by upgrade quality. At base quality it requires 15 Finewood and 10 Iron. Upgrading to quality 2 costs 10 Finewood and 5 Iron, quality 3 costs 20 Finewood and 10 Iron, and quality 4 costs 45 Finewood and 25 Iron. Its block armor rises from 52 at quality 1 to 58 at quality 2 and 64 at quality 3, while durability increases from 200 to 250 and then 300.

When crafting, the shield can be customized with one of several preset designs and colors by using the style button beneath the item name in the crafting window. This choice is permanent for that crafted shield, so the appearance should be selected before finishing the craft.

For players looking for a different iron-based shield option, the Serpent Scale Shield can also be made with Iron. It offers more block power and a lower movement penalty, but it requires access to Serpents.
