Carapace Spear

Carapace spear is a spear weapon crafted from Yggdrasil Wood, Carapace, and Mandible after advancing into the Mistlands. It is a fast, close-range piercing weapon with high single-target damage, and like other spears it is built around quick thrusts rather than wide swings.

Its main attack is a rapid forward stab that deals piercing damage and does not have an attack combo. The secondary attack throws the spear, which can be picked up from the ground immediately after it lands. The throw deals 1.5× the weapon’s normal damage, and if used from stealth it deals triple damage. Like all spears, Carapace spear floats if dropped or thrown into water, so it will not sink out of reach.

At max quality, Carapace spear reaches 133 pierce and 250 durability. Its upgrade path is:

• Quality 1: 10 Yggdrasil wood, 4 Carapace, 2 Mandible
• Quality 2: 5 Yggdrasil wood, 4 Carapace, 1 Mandible
• Quality 3: 10 Yggdrasil wood, 8 Carapace, 2 Mandible
• Quality 4: 15 Yggdrasil wood, 12 Carapace, 3 Mandible

Because it relies on quick stabs and a retrievable throw, the weapon rewards aggressive positioning and careful spacing. Its throw is especially useful for opening an engagement, finishing off a weakened enemy, or capitalizing on stealth before closing in for melee.
