Overview

Bronze spear is the second spear available after the Flint Spear. It is a one-handed pierce weapon that combines fast melee attacks with a throwable secondary attack, making it a flexible early- to mid-game option for players who want speed, reach, and the ability to keep pressure on enemies from a safe distance.

Its primary attack is very fast, with a 0.68 second swing at all quality levels. Unlike many other weapons, it does not have a three-hit combo. The secondary attack throws the spear, dealing 1.5x damage, and the spear then lands on the ground and can be picked up again. Like all spears, Bronze spear floats if dropped or thrown into water. A sneak attack with the spear deals 3x damage.

The weapon has the following base and upgraded combat values:

  • Quality 1: 35 pierce, 100 durability
  • Quality 2: 41 pierce, 150 durability
  • Quality 3: 47 pierce, 200 durability
  • Quality 4: 53 pierce, 250 durability

Its defensive stats are modest but useful for a spear, with a block value of 12–18, a parry force of 24–36, and a 2x parry bonus. It also carries a -5% movement speed penalty.

Bronze spear is crafted at a Forge and requires Bronze, Wood, and Deer Hide. The recipe scales with upgrades as follows:

  • Quality 1: 5 Wood, 6 Bronze, 2 Deer hide

  • Quality 2: 3 Wood, 4 Bronze, 1 Deer hide

  • Quality 3: 6 Wood, 8 Bronze, 2 Deer hide

  • Quality 4: 9 Wood, 12 Bronze, 3 Deer hide

  • The first attack costs 8 stamina, has a 1.9 m reach, a 40° arc, 1.5 m height, and 0.5 m radius.

  • The thrown attack also costs 8 stamina and takes 1.57 seconds including the spear’s return to hand.

  • First attack damage is identical to its listed pierce value, while the throw deals 52.5 / 61.5 / 70.5 / 79.5 pierce damage depending on quality.

  • Both attacks use the spear’s high sneak-attack multiplier, making ambushes especially effective.

Because the spear can be recovered after throwing, it rewards deliberate positioning and careful target selection. It is especially strong against enemies vulnerable to pierce damage and against single targets that can be pressured with repeated quick strikes. The throw is useful for finishing enemies at range or opening a fight with burst damage, but missing the recovery can leave the player briefly without their weapon until it is retrieved.
