Black Metal Knife

The Black metal knife is a one-handed knife weapon crafted at the Forge after progressing into black metal and linen thread materials. Like other knives, it deals both piercing and slash damage, has no movement penalty, and is especially effective when used from stealth or with fast, close-range burst attacks. It is the fifth knife tier after the Silver Knife, making it a late-game option for players who prefer agility and ambush damage over slower melee weapons.

At quality 1 through 4, the knife deals 34 / 35 / 36 / 37 piercing and the same amount of slash damage, with durability of 200 / 250 / 300 / 350. It weighs 0.3, has a defensive value of 2–3, parry force of 8–12, and a parry bonus of 4x. The weapon has no movement speed penalty, which makes it a strong fit for mobile builds that want to stay on the move while still keeping a solid block option.

Its primary attack is a three-hit combo. The final strike in the chain deals double damage, so finishing the combo is important if you are trying to maximize output. This attack uses 12 stamina and has a total execution time of about 1.74 seconds. Its hitbox reaches 1.8 range, with a 60° angle, 0.8 height, and 0.2 radius. The combo also applies good stagger pressure, with stagger values rising from 68 to 74 across qualities.

The secondary attack is a jumping stab that uses 36 stamina and takes about 1.52 seconds to execute. It deals 3x damage, with quality scaling of 102 / 105 / 108 / 111 piercing and slash damage. It also has much stronger stagger values, reaching 204 / 210 / 216 / 222, and a push force of 40. Because the attack is burst-oriented and forward-committing, it works best when you can safely close distance or punish a distracted target.

The knife also benefits greatly from stealth. A sneak attack bonus of 6x can turn either attack into a devastating opener against enemies that have not noticed you yet. In practice, this makes the Black Metal knife particularly effective for assassinating isolated creatures, opening fights from concealment, or finishing off enemies with low awareness. The secondary attack can be extraordinarily powerful when used against an unalerted target.

Crafting and upgrading require Finewood, Black metal, and Linen Thread in increasing amounts:
