Deer hide is a crafting material obtained mainly from deer in the Meadows and Black Forest. It is one of the early game hides and is used in a wide range of basic leather, weapon, armor, and building recipes, making it a key resource for early progression.

Deer drop 1 hide normally, 2 from 1-star deer, and 4 from 2-star deer. Deer hide can also be found in chests in troll caves, and it can be looted by destroying or dismantling fuling structures and roof pieces in the Plains, including buildings in fuling villages and fuling tree houses. In addition, goblin camps may contain tanning racks that can be broken down for deer hide.
