Huntsman Bow

The Huntsman bow is the third bow available in Valheim, coming after the Finewood Bow. It is crafted at a level 1 forge and is a one-attack ranged weapon that deals pierce damage and uses arrows as ammunition. Compared with earlier bows, it is quieter: its shot only creates noise within 4 meters, making it a strong option for careful hunting and for pulling enemies without alerting everything nearby.

Holding the attack button longer consumes more stamina, but improves accuracy, damage, and arrow speed. Like other bows, its shot follows a ballistic arc, so long-range shots need to be aimed slightly above the target. It has no alternate attack; pressing block instead cancels the draw. When used from stealth, it deals 3x sneak attack damage.

Its base stats and upgrades are:

• Weight: 1.5
• Defensive value: 5–7.5
• Parry force: 7.5–11.25
• Parry bonus: 1.5x
• Movement speed penalty: -5%
• Durability by quality: 100 / 150 / 200 / 250

Upgrade requirements are:

• Quality 1: 10 Finewood, 20 Iron, 10 Feathers, 2 Deer Hide
• Quality 2: 5 Finewood, 10 Iron, 5 Feathers, 2 Deer hide
• Quality 3: 10 Finewood, 20 Iron, 10 Feathers, 4 Deer hide
• Quality 4: 15 Finewood, 30 Iron, 15 Feathers, 6 Deer hide

The bow’s pierce damage increases with upgrades, starting at 42 and reaching 51 at quality 4. One source lists the quality 3 value as 48, while another lists 58; the remaining upgrade values are consistent. Its stagger damage follows the same values as its pierce damage, and its knockback remains 10 at every quality.
