Asksvin Hide

This sturdy leather is thick, and still warm to the touch.
Overview

The hide is obtained directly from Asksvin as loot. A standard Asksvin yields 2 hides, while starred variants drop more: 4 from 1-star creatures and 8 from 2-star creatures. Because Asksvin are aggressive and dangerous in the Ashlands, gathering large amounts of hide usually means fighting them repeatedly rather than relying on passive collection.
Asksvin hide is used in several important recipes and upgrades, including:
- Asksvin rug
- Asksvin cape
- Aska hood
- Aska chest
- Aska trousers
- Embla hood
- Embla robe
- Embla trousers
Flametal Mace
Flametal Shield
Flametal Tower Shield
Ashen Cape
Slayer
Berserkir Axes
- Nidhogg
Basalt Bomb
Flametal helmet
- Flametal chest
- Flametal greaves
The material is also required for furniture, notably the Asksvin rug, which uses 4 Asksvin hide. Since so many Ashlands items depend on it, it is worth stockpiling whenever you are hunting Asksvin. Starred Asksvin are especially efficient targets because their increased drop count greatly improves farming speed.
In practice, Asksvin hide is best treated as a progression bottleneck resource for Ashlands gear. If you are planning to craft multiple sets of armor, cloaks, or late-game weapons, it is useful to dedicate time to clearing Asksvin packs near your base or route through the biome with enough supplies to survive extended fights.
