Asksvin Egg

Asksvin egg is a breeding item used to produce Asksvin hatchlings, which later grow into adult Asksvin. It appears naturally when two tamed, fed Asksvin are kept close together, making it part of the game’s livestock reproduction system rather than a crafted or looted item.

To hatch, an Asksvin egg must be placed under a roof with shelter and kept near a fire or other heat source for 30 minutes. The egg must be placed as a single item, not left in a stack, or it will not hatch. Once the timer completes, an Asksvin hatchling spawns and eventually matures into an adult Asksvin.

Asksvin eggs have quality levels, unlike chicken eggs. The quality number shown on the top-right of the icon determines the star level of the hatchling that will emerge:

• Quality 1 hatches into a regular Asksvin hatchling.
• Quality 2 hatches into a 1-star Asksvin hatchling.
• Quality 3 hatches into a 2-star Asksvin hatchling.

Egg quality is determined by the star level of the Asksvin that laid it. A starless Asksvin lays a quality 1 egg, a 1-star Asksvin lays a quality 2 egg, and a 2-star Asksvin lays a quality 3 egg. If you are breeding Asksvin of different levels, it is efficient to reserve higher-quality eggs for producing higher-level offspring.

As with other livestock breeding setups, it is practical to build the Asksvin pen near your main base, where it can be checked often. Eggs can also be moved to a distant location after being laid and left there with a heat source for several days, making transport and delayed hatching straightforward as long as shelter and warmth are maintained.
