Overview

Boar meat is a food ingredient dropped by boars, with the amount scaling up to 4 depending on the creature’s star level. It is one of the earliest meat resources available in the game and forms the basis of several early- and mid-game recipes. As an ingredient, it is closely tied to early hunting, cooking progression, and animal taming.

Raw Boar meat can be cooked on a Cooking Station or Iron Cooking Station to produce Cooked Boar Meat, and it can also be processed in a Cauldron into more advanced foods. Boar meat is used in several recipes, including Boar Jerky, Sausages, minced meat sauce, and Turnip Stew. The cooked version is a separate item and cannot be substituted for raw Boar meat in recipes that call for the raw ingredient, and vice versa.

Boar meat also has a utility beyond cooking: it can be used for taming wolves and maintaining wolf breeding setups. This makes it valuable even after better food options become available, since players often want a steady supply for domestication rather than consumption.

Common uses include:

Cooked Boar meat is described as one of the first meals that provides a strong early health boost, making the raw ingredient important during the opening hours of survival. If left on a Cooking station too long, it will burn and turn into Coal, so it must be monitored while cooking.

Boar meat is obtained from boars rather than gathered from the environment, so a stable source usually depends on hunting or keeping boars for breeding. Because of its early availability and multiple recipe paths, it remains one of the most useful meat ingredients in the game’s progression.
