Carrot

An orange treat.
Overview
Carrot is a farmable food ingredient grown from Carrot seeds with the Cultivator. Once planted, it takes about 4000 to 5000 seconds to fully mature, which is roughly 2.2 to 2.8 in-game days. A mature carrot can also be replanted as a Seed-carrot to produce 3 Carrot seeds, making it a renewable crop once a player has a starter supply.
Carrot can be eaten raw, but its main value is as a cooking ingredient and for boar husbandry. When consumed raw, it restores 10 health and 32 stamina over 600 seconds, with a regeneration rate of 1 health every 10 seconds. It is also used to feed hungry Boars, which can start or continue taming and allow breeding. This makes carrots one of the first practical crops for building a self-sustaining food and livestock supply.

Carrot farming is straightforward once cultivated land is available. A planted carrot produces three seeds when grown back into a Seed-carrot, so repeated harvesting can multiply stock over time. Players commonly establish carrot fields near a base to maintain a steady supply for cooking, taming, and recipe progression. Because Carrot is required in multiple mid- and late-game food recipes, maintaining a large field is useful even after better foods become available.
