Charred Cogwheel

Charred cogwheel is a late-game crafting material found in the Ashlands. It is dropped by Skugg inside Charred Fortresses, making it a fortress-specific resource rather than a general world drop. Because it comes from a dangerous fortified area, it is usually obtained while clearing out the fortress itself.

Its main known use is in constructing the Catapult, where it is required alongside Ashwood and Flametal. This makes it part of the material set tied to siege-style progression in the Ashlands, since the catapult is used to help break through fortress defenses.

Like other resources marked with the crossed-out teleport icon, Charred cogwheel cannot be taken through portals. It must be carried by hand or transported by other means until portal transport becomes available through the relevant late-game progression. In practice, this means players should plan their expeditions with inventory space in mind when farming Charred Fortresses, since Skugg drops may be collected alongside other non-teleportable Ashlands materials.
