Carapace

Carapace is a late-game crafting material dropped by Seekers and Seeker Soldiers in the Mistlands. It is one of the key insect-carapace resources used to make advanced weapons and armor at the Black Forge.

Carapace is primarily obtained as loot from those enemies, with the amount increasing based on their star level. In practice, tougher variants yield more Carapace, making starred Seekers and Seeker Soldiers the best source for large quantities.

It is used in several Black Forge level 1 recipes, including:

• Carapace arrows
• Carapace bolts
• Carapace chest armor
• Carapace leggings
• Carapace Helmet
• Carapace Shield
• Carapace Buckler
• Carapace Spear

Because so many high-end Mistlands items depend on it, Carapace is a major progression resource once players begin exploring the biome. Farming Seeker and Seeker Soldier camps or clearing Mistlands terrain for repeated enemy encounters is the most direct way to stockpile it.

The material’s usefulness is tied almost entirely to crafting; it is not shown as having any other special function beyond its role as an ingredient for the Carapace equipment line and related ammunition.
