Silver Arrow

Silver arrows are ammunition for bows that become available once the forge reaches level 3 and silver has been collected. They are crafted in batches of 20 and cannot be upgraded. Each batch requires 8 Wood, 1 Silver, and 2 Feathers.

Silver arrows deal both pierce damage and spirit damage. They also apply a fast damage-over-time effect to enemies considered Undead or Unholy, which makes them especially effective against swamp undead such as draugr and ghosts, as well as against The Elder and his Roots. They are also useful against Fenring. By contrast, they are a poor choice against most Mountain biome creatures, since many of them are resistant or immune to this type of damage.

Because of their spirit damage component, silver arrows are one of the better arrow types for clearing out undead enemies and other unholy targets. Their extra damage over time can help finish off durable foes even when the initial hit is not enough to kill them outright. They are less efficient against enemies that resist pierce and spirit damage, so they are usually best kept for swamp and other undead-heavy encounters rather than being used as a general-purpose arrow.

Silver arrows can also be found randomly in chests, providing an occasional early source of this ammunition before they can be crafted in quantity.
