Research Module
Overview
The Research Module is an item used to generate additional research points when used in a Virtual Planetarium. Placing a Research Module into a Virtual Planetarium triggers the module’s data to be processed by the planetarium, producing extra research that advances the colony’s technology progress beyond normal research operations.
Research Modules are consumed by the Virtual Planetarium to yield additional research points; they serve as a direct way to convert stored data into technology progress without requiring duplicated research time at a research station. Use Research Modules when you need an immediate boost to unlock specific techs or to accelerate a research queue that would otherwise take long active work. Because they interface specifically with the Virtual Planetarium, Research Modules have no effect when used at other research buildings.
- Insert a Research Module into an operational Virtual Planetarium to produce additional research points.
- They are intended as a complementary source of research and are useful for speeding up tech milestones.
- Research Modules only function through the Virtual Planetarium; they do not generate research on their own or through other research buildings.
