Oxylite

Overview

Practical usage and behavior notes:
Oxylite provides clean
Oxygen and does not produce Polluted Water or
Polluted Oxygen byproduct; it is therefore a straightforward air source for closed rooms and early colonies.
- Store
Oxylite submerged in water or under sufficient gas pressure if you want to keep it from producing
Oxygen immediately. Submersion is the most reliable prevention method but requires layout planning.
Oxylite in hot environments can change behavior like other materials that have temperature-dependent state changes; be mindful of ambient temperatures when using
Oxylite near thermal hazards or heat-generating buildings.
- Sublimating
Oxylite can cause over-pressurization if large quantities are left exposed in confined spaces. Monitor gas pressure and provide ventilation to avoid unwanted pressure build-up.
Oxylite is best used as a supplementary or emergency
Oxygen source rather than the sole long-term supply for large colonies; it is valuable for jump-starting life support or for small, controlled rooms.
- When harvesting natural
Oxylite veins, take care not to disturb temperature regulation in adjacent biomes (for example Abyssalite seams or Volcanic neighbors), and plan for containment to capture the released
Oxygen efficiently.
Acquisition:
Oxylite appears as natural deposits in the world generation and can also be found in certain ruins and POIs. It can be harvested with normal digging operations.
- Some Space POIs can yield organic and mineral resources; check mission loot tables if attempting to collect
Oxylite or similar materials during rocket expeditions.
