Molten Iron

Overview
Molten Iron is the liquid metal resource produced by Iron Volcanoes and appears as a collectible liquid on the stellar map. It is the molten form of
Molten Iron is generated periodically by Iron Volcanoes, which erupt and deposit this liquid metal into the surrounding environment. On the galactic/starmap scale it can also be obtained from the Metal Asteroid Belt as a source node that yields Molten Iron over time. When harvesting locations that produce Molten Iron, the resource replenishes at a measurable rate: 67.5–202.5 kg per cycle, depending on the spawn type and world parameters.
Practical notes for acquisition and planning:
- Molten Iron is tied to surface or map features (Iron Volcanoes) and to specific asteroid belt nodes; include those features when scouting or selecting a world if you require a steady supply of molten metal.
- The regeneration rate is given as a range; plan extraction and usage to stay within that throughput if you rely on these nodes for ongoing production.
- Because Molten Iron is produced by environmental features rather than by duplicants or buildings, its availability depends on whether the map contains an Iron Volcano or Metal Asteroid Belt node. If neither is present, these specific sources will not provide Molten Iron.
- Some sources and UI labels may use the term Liquid Iron; be aware the names refer to the same liquid iron resource in-game.
This article summarizes the documented spawn points and replenishment behavior for Molten Iron compiled from multiple language sources. If you need exact placement or in-game interactions (pumping, storage, temperature behavior), consult the map-specific data or build references for how liquids are handled on your selected world, as those implementation details are recorded in resource-handling and building documentation rather than in the deposit/regeneration entries.
