Rust Deoxidizer

Overview

Rust Deoxidizer is a building that consumes Rust and Salt and produces Oxygen. It functions as a converter: inputs of Rust and Salt are processed and the output is Oxygen, allowing players to turn otherwise inconvenient materials into breathable gas.

Because its only documented resource inputs are Rust and Salt, the Rust Deoxidizer is best used where those materials are readily available. Place it near storage or processing areas that accumulate Rust and Salt so that inputs can be fed with minimal transport. The Oxygen output should be routed or placed in a location where dupes need breathable air; placing it near living quarters, workspaces, or airlocks helps integrate the output into the colony’s atmosphere.

Practical points to consider:

  • Feed the Rust Deoxidizer with Rust and Salt; those are the required inputs for producing Oxygen.
  • The device produces Oxygen as its output; ensure the produced Oxygen is distributed to areas that require breathable atmosphere or to storage for further use.
  • Locating the building close to both supply sources (Rust and Salt) and demand zones for Oxygen reduces conveyor or transport overhead.
  • Manage storage and transport so that Rust and Salt do not build up unnecessarily and Oxygen does not accumulate in unwanted areas.

The Rust Deoxidizer provides a direct conversion path from Rust and Salt into Oxygen, making it a useful option when those solid resources are abundant and conventional oxygen generation methods are limited.
