Royal Jelly

Jelly fit for kings and queens.
Overview
Royal jelly is a

Royal jelly piles respawn every four hours of real time in versions 0.213.4 and later. Many of these piles have a permanent visual marker above them: a dripping, hanging stalactite-like lump of royal jelly on the ceiling that indicates where the pile is located. This makes it easier to find them again between respawns. Before 0.213.4, picked royal jelly piles in Infested Mines disappeared permanently, so mines cleared in earlier versions may no longer contain any renewable piles.
Outside of mines, royal jelly can be obtained indefinitely from Seeker Brood in Mistlands events and from the Mistlands boss fight, since both can produce more of these enemies. In practice, this makes event spawns and boss encounters useful for farming extra royal jelly once a player has exhausted nearby mines.
Royal jelly is used in the following recipes:
Yggdrasil Porridge: 2 royal jelly, 4 sap, 3 barley
Seeker Aspic: 2 royal jelly, 2 seeker meat, 2 magecap
- Minor, medium, and powerful healing mead variants use royal jelly as part of their recipe line, including the stronger healing mead that requires 5 royal jelly, 10 honey, and 4 blood clot
When exploring the Infested Mines, royal jelly is often found beneath winding staircases or in small dead-end rooms at the end of tunnels, so it is worth checking these places carefully. Since the piles respawn on a timer, miners can return later to refill their stock rather than treating them as one-time loot. For players focused on food production, royal jelly is especially valuable because it supports both a strong stamina food and a key combat food while also feeding healing mead crafting.
