Bliss Burst

Bliss Burst is a plant associated with the Floral Scent germ, a harmless but irritating airborne germ that can spread through nearby gases. In affected atmospheres, it can be produced by plants such as Bristle Blossoms and Buddy Buds, and it is also part of the oxygen-processing trick that uses slime, Buddy Bud, and a deodorizer to create slimelung-free oxygen.

Floral Scent has a temperature range of -10°C to 100°C and a pressure range of 0 kg to 1000 kg. It is removed by solid, gas, oxygen, and liquid environments, although in practice it dies off about 20 times faster in Polluted Oxygen than in Oxygen, making Polluted Oxygen effectively the better disinfecting medium. Infection chance is strictly binary and is not affected by immune boosting.

Its effects are brief, lasting 0.1 cycle. Duplicants with the Allergic trait suffer +15% stress per cycle and +10 Sneeziness, while everyone else gains -5% stress per cycle. Allergic reactions can be prevented for 720 seconds with Allergy Medication from an Apothecary, and the same medicine can also cure them. Bleach Stone can further help mitigate the germ.

A few practical notes:

• Bristle Blossoms only spread Floral Scent while blooming.
• Because Floral Scent spreads through nearby gases, plant placement matters if you want to avoid accidental exposure.
• The germ is not dangerous in the way disease germs are, but it can still create annoying stress penalties for Allergic duplicants.
• If you are using slime and Buddy Buds for oxygen production, combining them with a deodorizer can keep the output free of slimelung while Floral Scent is present.
