Pocket Sand

Overview

Practical notes and interactions:
- The Blind/Darkness stacks applied are equal to the relic parameter {[POCKET_BLIND_AMT]}; check your current run’s numeric value (relic tooltip) for the exact amount.
- The trigger condition is a successful melee hit on the player. Ranged attacks or non-damaging contact do not trigger
Pocket Sand.
Pocket Sand synergizes with strategies that prolong fights or force enemies to make multiple melee attacks (e.g., builds that stall or draw aggro), because each hit grants additional Blind to the attacker.
- It pairs well with crowd-control and accuracy-reduction effects: applying Blind to already-weakened or high-attack-rate enemies multiplies the defensive benefit.
Pocket Sand is primarily a defensive relic rather than a damage source; use it to reduce enemy threat and improve survivability rather than to directly clear enemies.
The relic name is a cultural reference: the name is most likely a reference to the line by Dale Gribble from the animated sitcom King of the Hill, who famously throws sand at assailants while saying "Pocket sand."
