Overview

King Slime is a slime boss that can be summoned by placing a Crown Summoning Idol on any slime boss rune. Once active, it behaves like the other slime bosses, closing distance with fast leaps and creating Ground Slime where it lands. It is also highly disruptive to terrain, instantly breaking any non-indestructible objects in its path, including walls. Any pits or liquids along its path are filled in with ground blocks, with the exact material depending on the rune used: Dirt, Grass, Beach, or Lava Rock Block.

At full health, King Slime only begins attacking players within 6 tiles. After taking damage, its aggro range expands to 20 tiles. If players move out of range during the fight, or if King Slime travels more than 25 tiles from the rune, it retreats to the rune and regenerates health at 10% of its maximum every 5 seconds. This makes the arena and the boss rune important parts of the encounter, since pulling it too far away causes the fight to reset into a recovery phase.

King Slime also reinforces itself by summoning Royal Slimes. It creates one Royal Slime for every 700 health lost, and these minions follow and attack nearby players before despawning automatically after 60 seconds. Royal Slimes are not affected by the boss’s enraged state. King Slime itself becomes enraged at 30% health, at which point it moves much faster and becomes much harder to keep under control.

A few practical details matter during the fight:

  • King Slime will not spawn a new Royal Slime if there are already 12 or more within a 15-tile radius.
  • Its leap attack and terrain-breaking movement make walls and narrow chokepoints unreliable for containment.
  • Since it can refill pits and liquids with rune-dependent blocks, terrain obstacles may change as the battle progresses.
  • Dragging the boss too far from the rune causes it to return and heal, so sustained damage is safer than kiting it indefinitely.

The encounter is best handled by keeping the fight centered near the rune, limiting how far the boss can jump through the arena, and preparing for the added pressure from Royal Slimes once the battle gets underway.
