Overview

Ovagro Fig is a raw food item usable both as direct sustenance for Duplicants and as animal feed. Duplicants can eat an Ovagro Fig as-is; it provides 325 kcal and cannot be cooked or processed into other duplicant meals. Outside of direct consumption, Ovagro Figs serve as a versatile fodder and an ingredient in a Gas Range recipe.

Feeding and production interactions:

  • Feeding Ovagro Figs to Lumbs is treated as 1300 kcal per cycle of feed and causes Lumbs to produce Peat at 200 kg per cycle.
  • Feeding Ovagro Figs to Hatches and Sage Hatches is treated as 700 kcal per cycle and results in Coal production of 1615.4 g per cycle (for Hatches) or 2153.8 g per cycle (for Sage Hatches).
  • Ovagro Fig cannot be cooked into duplicant meals, but it can be combined with Grubfruit, Sleet Wheat Grain, or Megafrond Grain at a Gas Range to create Mixed Berry Pie.

Practical notes:

  • Use raw Ovagro Figs to sustain early colonies when cooking infrastructure is limited, but be aware of their inability to be turned into standard cooked meals.
  • For resource farms, Ovagro Figs are an efficient input for biomass/coal production: dedicate dedicated feeding pens with the appropriate critters (Lumbs for peat, Hatches/Sage Hatches for coal) to convert surplus figs into industrial materials.
  • When planning feed cycles, account for the differing effective kcal-per-cycle values depending on the consumer (Lumbs vs Hatches/Sage Hatches) to avoid over- or underfeeding.
  • Combine Ovagro Figs with the listed fruits and grains at a Gas Range if you need Mixed Berry Pie for higher-quality food or recipe-specific needs.
