When equipped, each orb that hits an enemy adds [POISON_ATK] stacks of poison (Spinfection) to that enemy, turning ordinary damage rolls into sources of progressive damage over time via the poison status.

This item changes how offensive orbs are valued: high-frequency, multi-hit, and spread orbs gain extra synergy because each individual hit independently applies the stated poison stacks. It is especially effective against enemies with higher health pools or regeneration because the stacking poison amplifies sustained damage beyond the immediate orb impact.

Practical notes and interactions:

  • Every successful orb hit applies [POISON_ATK] stacks; misses or blocked shots do not apply poison.
  • Combining Grubby Gloves with orbs that split, multiply, or hit multiple times (for example, cluster or ricochet orbs) multiplies applications of poison, making it a strong choice for scaling damage in long fights.
  • Poison stacks stack additively per hit and persist according to the game's poison-duration mechanics; pairing the item with effects that extend status durations increases total damage from Spinfection.
  • Grubby Gloves is most valuable when you can reliably land many hits per turn or against enemies that survive the initial impacts; it offers diminishing returns on single-hit, high-damage orbs where immediate burst is already lethal.
  • Defensive or avoidance strategies from enemies that reduce orb hits (shields, phasing, or high evasion) reduce the item’s effectiveness, so adapt run choices or orb selections to ensure hits connect.
