Bone Flute

The Bone Flute is an artifact that can be donated to the Museum. Like other artifacts, it contributes to the museum collection total, and after the player has donated at least two other artifacts, donating the Bone Flute rewards a Flute Block.

It also has several practical uses outside the museum. In the Bone Mill, the Bone Flute can be processed into one of four fertilizers: Quality Fertilizer, Speed-Gro, Deluxe Speed-Gro, or Tree Fertilizer. At the Sewing Machine, it can be used in the spool to create the Blue Long Vest. It can also be used as a yellow dye ingredient in dye pots at Emily and Haley’s house.

The Bone Flute is additionally relevant during the Special Order quest "Fragments of the Past." When this quest is active, Gunther may request 100 of any combination of bone items, which must be collected within 7 days. Completing the quest rewards the player with the Bone Mill recipe.

Because of its multiple uses, the Bone Flute is often worth holding onto until the player has decided whether it is better used for museum progress, crafting materials, tailoring, or dyeing. If the museum donation has already been completed, duplicate Bone Flutes can still be valuable for fertilizer production or the one-time tailoring recipe.
