Silver Ore

Unrefined silver. Needs to be refined in a smelter.
Overview


Silver ore is mined from buried silver veins, which are most often hidden underground in the Mountains. The veins can be located with the Wishbone, which emits sounds and colored particles when a vein is nearby; the signal becomes faster and more intense as the player gets closer. An alternate method is to strike the ground in suspected areas with a 


To extract Silver ore, a player needs an 
- Silver veins do not respawn once mined.
- Veins can sometimes be interwoven with stone nearby, but they remain minable after the surrounding stone is removed.
- A vein can be collapsed very quickly by removing all supporting terrain around it, then breaking a single node to make the entire vein drop its resources at once. This method does not grant pickaxe experience.
- Mining can be aided by a
Troll, but not by a
Stone Golem.
A silver vein always has a Y-shaped layout made up of 100 nodes, each with 40 health. Each node drops either stone or Silver ore, and on average a full vein yields about 83.3 Silver ore and 166.7 stone. Since each vein is generated by the world seed, the world generator attempts multiple placements before finding a valid location, with Mountain biome, sufficient altitude, and suitable terrain slope among the required conditions.
