Pitcher Pump

Overview

Pitcher Pump allows Duplicants to bottle liquids and deliver them from one place to another. It is an early utility building for moving liquid by hand rather than through pipes, making it useful whenever a colony needs to relocate a small amount of fluid without setting up a full plumbing system.

A Pitcher Pump is typically used to draw liquid from pools, reservoirs, or other accessible sources and convert it into bottled liquid that Duplicants can carry. This makes it especially handy for collecting water or other liquids from nearby deposits and moving them to storage, processing, or construction sites elsewhere in the colony. Because it relies on Duplicant labor, it is slower and less automated than pipe-based liquid transport, but it requires far less infrastructure.

Pitcher Pumps are most valuable in the early game or in situations where liquid transport needs are occasional rather than continuous. They are also useful for handling liquids in places where piping would be inconvenient or unnecessary. Since the building supports manual bottling and delivery, it can serve as a flexible bridge between raw liquid sources and more organized storage or distribution systems.

  • It lets Duplicants bottle liquid directly instead of relying on pipes.
  • It is useful for moving liquid from nearby pools or other accessible sources.
  • It is best suited to small-scale or temporary liquid transport.
  • It provides a simple alternative when a colony does not yet have a more advanced liquid system.

Because Pitcher Pump depends on Duplicants to perform the hauling, its effectiveness is tied to labor availability and travel distance. A pump placed far from storage or work sites will take longer to be useful, while one placed close to both the source and the destination can make early liquid handling much easier.
