Overview

Storm Star is an enchanted variant of the Flametal Mace, designed to add lightning damage to a standard blunt weapon. It combines normal melee hits with elemental procs, giving it a chance to deal extra Lightning damage on impact and to trigger a chained lightning discharge that can jump to nearby enemies.

Its special effect gives attacks a 25% chance to deal Lightning damage, and a separate 25% chance to unleash a chain lightning burst that deals an additional 75 Lightning damage. After the burst occurs, the lightning has an 80% chance to jump to nearby enemies, making the weapon especially effective when fighting grouped targets.

To unlock the crafting recipe, you must have all required materials in your inventory at least once. The weapon is crafted from a Flametal mace, Flametal, and Iolite, and its material cost increases with quality:

  • Quality 1: 1 Flametal mace, 8 Flametal, 1 Iolite
  • Quality 2: 8 Flametal, 1 Iolite
  • Quality 3: 16 Flametal, 2 Iolite
  • Quality 4: 24 Flametal, 3 Iolite

Storm Star starts with 135 Blunt damage, 10 Lightning damage, and 150 durability at quality 1. Upgrading improves only the blunt portion and durability, while Lightning damage remains unchanged:

  • Quality 1: 135 Blunt, 10 Lightning, 150 durability
  • Quality 2: 141 Blunt, 10 Lightning, 200 durability
  • Quality 3: 147 Blunt, 10 Lightning, 250 durability
  • Quality 4: 153 Blunt, 10 Lightning, 300 durability

Because the enchantment resets all previous upgrades on the base weapon, Storm Star should be treated as a separate endgame weapon rather than a simple enhancement of an already improved mace. Its value comes from combining reliable blunt damage with frequent lightning procs, making it well suited to enemies that are vulnerable to stagger and to fights where the chain lightning can strike multiple foes at once.
