Park Sign

Overview

Park Sign is the in-game marker associated with parks; parks are areas that provide a morale benefit to duplicants who pass through them. Passing through parks increases Duplicant Morale.

Use parks to boost overall colony morale by placing them where duplicants naturally travel. High-traffic routes between living quarters, workstations, lavatories and mess halls are the most effective locations because duplicants receive the morale benefit simply by walking through the park area. Integrate parks into transit corridors, around main artery stairs and elevators, and near schedules' origin/destination points to grant frequent, low-maintenance morale boosts.

Practical considerations for effective park placement:

  • Prioritize routes used by many duplicants or by duplicants on long commutes to maximize the number of morale events.
  • Combine parks with pleasant environment features (decor, plants) to stack positive morale effects from multiple sources.
  • Place parks near stress-inducing facilities (e.g., noisy machinery, medical bays) or in bottleneck areas to offset negative morale from unpleasant encounters.
  • Keep parks accessible and unobstructed; duplicants must be able to walk through the park area to receive the morale increase.

Park-based morale gains are passive and automatic: duplicants do not need to stop or perform any special action beyond walking through the area. Designing circulation and facilities around park locations is an efficient, low-maintenance way to maintain higher morale across the colony.
