Overview

Duplicatorb is an event-related orb interaction encountered when the player finds a pair of identical altars. The event presents two altar slots, each labeled for a single orb placement. When the player places an orb on one altar, an identical copy of that orb appears on the matching altar; the duplicate is automatically scooped up and added to the player’s orbit immediately. If the player closes the orb selection screen without placing an orb, the altars remain silent and nothing happens.

The altars use the same sprite as the Mysterious Altar event, but their mechanical effect is unique: they replicate a placed orb once and hand the copy to the player. Duplication occurs instantly upon placement, so the player gains a second instance of the chosen orb without spending another orb slot or currency.

Practical notes and strategy:

  • The duplicated orb can be any orb the player places, so the event is best used to copy powerful or synergetic orbs that scale with peg hits, activations, or the number of pegs they generate.
  • Duplicating low-damage, utility, or setup orbs (for example, orbs that spawn Critical Pegs or Refresh Pegs) multiplies their supportive value and can substantially boost the effectiveness of high-damage follow-up orbs.
  • The duplicated orb’s raw damage is not the primary benefit; using the event to copy orbs that enable combos (slime applicators, bucklorb/protectorb-style synergy, or orbs that benefit from extra pegs) yields the best returns.
  • The duplicate is added directly to the player’s inventory immediately, so plan placements around current orb capacity and upcoming choices to avoid wasting the benefit.
  • If you cancel the selection, the event has no effect and you leave without obtaining any orb.
