Gem Cutter

The Gem cutter is an upgrade for the Black Forge, extending its functionality so that Black forge-crafted gear can be improved to higher quality levels. It is part of the Ashlands-era progression and sits alongside other workbench-style improvements that expand what can be crafted and upgraded at a base.

Like the Black forge itself, the Gem cutter is tied to late-game crafting infrastructure. The black forge is one of the crafting stations used to make powerful weapons and equipment, and some buildings also require a nearby Black forge. The Black forge must be placed indoors and under a roof, so the Gem cutter is most useful when integrated into a properly enclosed forge area.

• Primarily used to raise the upgrade ceiling for equipment made at the Black forge.
• Best placed as part of a protected crafting setup, since it depends on the Black forge’s station requirements.
