Overview

The Artisan table is a crafting station unlocked after obtaining dragon tears from defeating Moder. It is one of the late-game stations in Valheim and serves as the foundation for several advanced crafting structures. Like other crafting stations, it must be placed indoors and under a roof, and it requires at least 70% shelter to be usable.

Its main role is not direct item crafting from an interface, but enabling the construction of major production buildings within a 40-meter radius. These include the Blast Furnace, Spinning Wheel, Windmill, and Stone Oven. The station itself can also be upgraded, and its current maximum level is 2. Upgrading an Artisan table enables additional crafting recipes nearby; at present, the upgrade structure is the Artisan press, which requires 5 Black Marble, 5 Bronze, and 1 Majestic Carapace.

Because the Artisan table is tied to endgame progression, it marks the point where base building and food processing open up into more advanced production chains. Once it is placed, it becomes a central support piece for a modern settlement, especially for players preparing metalworking, grain processing, and higher-tier cooking. The table’s placement requirements are strict enough that it is usually best installed in a dedicated workshop or production hall rather than in a temporary shelter.
