Overview

Barber station is a buildable crafting station used to change a character’s hairstyle and beard. It becomes available after finding the Merchant, and unlike some merchant-related unlocks, no special quest completion is required. The Barber kit needed to craft it can be purchased from the Merchant for 600 gold.

When placed near a Cauldron, the Barber station acts as an upgrade for it, so it belongs in the same general kitchen-and-crafting area as other Cauldron extensions. It must be positioned within 2 meters of the Cauldron to count. Like other chairs and thrones, it also provides 2 comfort when used as furniture, so it serves both a cosmetic and a utility role in a base.

A few practical points stand out:

  • It is primarily a styling station, letting the player change hair and beard appearance.
  • The station is tied to merchant progression rather than biome progression, so it can be obtained relatively early once the Merchant is discovered.
  • Because it functions as a Cauldron upgrade, it is worth placing close to your cooking setup instead of isolating it in a separate room.
  • Its comfort bonus makes it slightly more useful than a purely decorative object, especially in compact bases where every comfort point matters.

The Barber station’s hairstyle options include the Braids of Strength, which is a reference to Pippi Longstocking, the famous Swedish character known for her extraordinary strength.
