Overview

Magecap is a Mistlands food crop gathered from rocky areas and used as a key ingredient in several Mistlands recipes. It can also be eaten raw, but its Health and Stamina are much weaker than other foods at the same tier. Its main value is that it is the first food that increases the player's Eitr when consumed, making it an important early source of magical resource regeneration.

Magecaps can be planted with a Cultivator directly into cultivated soil in the Mistlands; unlike many other crops, they do not require seeds first. They will only grow in the Mistlands, so farmland outside that biome will not work. Once planted, a single Magecap yields three Magecaps after fully maturing, and the full growth cycle takes about three in-game days, or roughly an hour and a half of real time.

Magecaps are especially useful as a crafting ingredient rather than as a simple snack. They are used in several Mistlands food and mead recipes, including Eitr-focused meads and advanced dishes. Because of this, it is worth setting aside part of any harvest for cooking and potion production instead of eating them all directly.

  • Gather them in rocky areas of the Mistlands.
  • Use a Cultivator to plant them on cultivated Mistlands soil.
  • They plant directly; no seed stage is required.
  • One planted Magecap produces three on harvest.
  • They can be eaten raw, but their stats are modest compared with other foods in their tier.
  • They are valuable for Eitr-based progression and as ingredients in higher-end Mistlands recipes.
