Grausten

Grausten is a building material found in the Ashlands. It is obtained by destroying Ashlands ruins, rock formations, and other gray stone structures in the biome, and it can be mined with any pickaxe. Large amounts can also be gathered from battlefields after encounters with Morgens, Fallen Valkyries, or lava blobs. In the Ashlands, Grausten appears in several natural and man-made forms, including cone-like outcrops in the waters around the biome, small hills, bridges, rises on the mainland, and gray ash-covered buildings.

Grausten is a core construction resource for the biome’s newer structural pieces, especially walls, roofs, and decorative parts. It is used throughout the Ashlands building set and is one of the main materials needed for expanding into the region’s harsher environments. Its presence in ruins and terrain makes salvaging it a natural part of Ashlands exploration, while battlefield drops provide a useful bonus for players who fight in the area.

Because Grausten is tied so closely to Ashlands architecture, it is best treated as a primary stockpile material rather than a rare specialty drop. Mining ruins and exposed formations while traveling through the biome will usually provide enough material for small builds, but larger projects can consume it quickly.
