Niketas

Niketas is the founder and spiritual leader of the Canaan settlement and functions as its chief preacher and de facto ruler. He occupies the large church at the top of the village, where he is typically found addressing his flock; villagers revere him as a prophet and visit his chapel seeking the peculiar flame he dispenses. Niketas claims to follow a figure called Petrae and credits a "holy" Lodestone artifact for guiding his sect and its search for Paradise. Details of his life before founding Canaan are scarce: sources note possible erasure of his past, an unclear origin for the Lodestone, and only fragmentary links between that artifact and the incendiary pyrotechnics used by Canaan's populace.

In combat Niketas is a durable single-target boss with strong area and ranged capabilities. He is accompanied by devoted followers who often pose the greatest immediate threat; they can overwhelm a player more easily than Niketas himself if left unchecked. Niketas throws explosive devices that deal holy damage; this damage type ignores armor and can rapidly defeat an unprepared character. He moves frequently and will reposition before deploying these grenades, so engaging him in close quarters risks being interrupted by sudden ranged blasts. Despite this, melee is feasible if the followers are neutralized and Niketas is controlled.

• Recommended engagement order: eliminate followers first to remove pressure and reduce the chance of being swamped while dealing with Niketas' resilient health pool.
• Preferred tactics: maintain range where possible. Weapons with reach or thrown explosives reduce exposure to his holy grenades and exploit his tendency to reposition before attacking.
• Avoid allowing holy grenades to detonate near you; they bypass armor and are the fight’s primary lethal mechanic.
• Crowd-control tools are very effective. Freezing effects such as Slushie Bombs lock Niketas in place long enough to follow up safely with either melee or ranged attacks.
• If attempting melee, time your approach after followers are cleared and immediately use crowd-control or burst damage to minimize grenade windows.
• Slushie Bombs are singled out as particularly useful because they interrupt his movement and grenade usage, creating high-value attack windows.

Guaranteed drops and harvestable remains make Niketas a reliable source of certain materials. He always drops Silver Scrap and The Diary of Niketas - 4. Harvesting his corpse yields Human Skull, Tech Scrap, and a Preacher's Hat. The Preacher's Hat is consistently obtainable and reflects his status as Canaan’s head preacher.
