Overview

Slenderlin is a mutated Peglin enemy that appears as a lanky, unsettling figure which launches increasingly powerful bouldorbs. It first appeared in v0.7.17 and has had art and animation improvements in later versions. In lore, Slenderlin was once a well-intentioned Peglin who attempted to use crystal power to protect its village but was consumed by a directionless rage and transformed into this fearsome form.

Slenderlin fights alongside Sappers and periodically grants the Muscircle / Muscular (often shown as "マッチョ" / strength buff) status to itself and to its accompanying Sappers. Because it buffs allies as well as itself, encounters with Slenderlin become much more dangerous if the fight is allowed to drag on; the enemy group’s attack power increases significantly as the buff is applied. The pegboard for the Slenderlin encounter centers on surviving escalating bouldorbs while managing the added damage from buffed Sappers.

Practical notes for dealing with Slenderlin:

  • Prioritize a fast, short fight to avoid repeated Muscircle applications; kill Slenderlin or its Sappers before multiple buffs stack.
  • Focus single-target high damage or burst strategies to prevent the enemies from gaining sustained strength over multiple turns.
  • Area control that reduces the number of active attackers can mitigate the impact of buffs applied to Sappers.
  • Be mindful of peg placement that maximizes damage on the bouldorbs; preventing large bouldorbs from reaching the player reduces the effective damage spike when Sappers are buffed.

Slenderlin’s visual and attack presentation was refined after its introduction: art improvements were made in v0.7.20 and attack animation improvements in v0.7.52. Its name is a reference to Slender Man. Images of its attack and the pegboard layout for the fight are commonly shown in galleries for visual reference.
